J.P. STRATTON AWARD

Tony McGrath, Administrator

Council’s Annual General Meeting held on Friday 20 October 2006 was the occasion to announce the awarding of our Industry’s highest recognition honour, The J.P. Stratton Award to Anthony (Tony) Joseph McGrath of Killarney Heights, New South Wales.

Tony is to be congratulated on his long term involvement and significant career as an
Administrator
in our industry.

At the National level he was a former President of the Australian Harness Racing Council and Vice President of the Inter Dominion Harness Racing Council. At the State level, he has been Managing Director, Past President and Treasurer of the New South Wales Harness Racing Club combining his Club activities with being a Board Member of Harness Racing New South
Wales
. In addition, he represented our industry on Racingcorp Pty Ltd and in other roles.

Whilst not generally known, Tony has undertaken a significant personal contribution to various Charitable Organisations together with a demanding Corporate career.

I extend Council’s congratulations to Tony McGrath and his wife Jill, on his performance and outstanding achievement in many Roles to the Australian Harness Racing Industry generally.
