Lockdown Orders- Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, Singleton and Muswellbrook Local Government Areas.

Following the lockdown orders imposed by the NSW Government in relation to the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, Singleton and Muswellbrook Local Government Areas (LGA’s) that will commence from 5pm today for one (1) week, HRNSW advises the following:

Licensed participants residing in those LGA’s are now subject to the same rules and restrictions previously imposed on Greater Sydney and the Central Coast. Those licensed participants MUST remain within the lockdown zone unless NSW Government exemptions apply.

Licensed participants who reside outside the lockdown zone MUST remain outside the lockdown zone unless NSW Government exemptions apply.

Consequently, Trainers located outside the lockdown zone with horses engaged for the Newcastle harness meeting on Friday 6 August 2021 are advised that those horses will be withdrawn without penalty and will be covered in accordance with the HRNSW Abandoned Meetings Policy. This will also apply to Drivers engaged for that meeting.

In addition, Trainers located within the lockdown zone will be unable to nominate horses for the Tamworth harness meeting scheduled for Thursday 12 August 2021.

For racecourses within the lockdown zone the following will apply until further notice:

Only licensed Trainers, Drivers and Stablehands for horses engaged can attend race meetings and trials; Members of the public are unable to attend pursuant to the NSW Government lockdown restrictions.

Any person wishing to make enquiries should contact HRNSW Stewards on 9722 6655.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
