Lot 108: Sire: All Bets Off (US) | Dam: Keepers Daughter

The draft of the northern Tasmanian-based Tourello Standardbreds at the Australian Pacing Gold Melbourne Yearling Sale on Sunday, February 15 features representation from some of Australia’s most exciting, young first crop sires in All Bets Off, Summa Cum Laude and Catch The Fire.

A $3 million winning son of Bettor’s Delight, All Bets Off has sired the winners of more than $10 million from his first three crops in Canada including 36 $100,000 earners with six in 1:50.

They include the 2023 Canadian 2YO Filly of the Year Pass Line, the Little Brown Jug heat winner Moment Is Here and the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold champions Big Big Plans and All Star Mania.

The Tourello consignment boasts six yearlings by All Bets Off – two colts and four fillies – with two being offered by themselves, three for Solotrek Pty Ltd and one for JJA Bloodstock.

Tourello has a pair of fillies – both strongly built with a lovely temperament – one out of Miss Blue Glory (Lot 116), an American Ideal mare from the family of the Inter Dominion champion Elsu, and the other from Run And Hide (Lot 141), a Shadow Play mare who is closely related to horses the calibre of Soho Tribeca, Carlas Pixel and Villagem.

The Solotrek offering includes colts out of Keepers Daughter (Lot 108) and Bella Sainz (Lot 166) and a filly (Lot 143), who is from the Oaks winner Saved A Corka, the dam of 10 individual winners and the grand-dam of last year’s outstanding juvenile Loucasso.

The lone All Bets Off from JJA Bloodstock’s entry is Lot 149, a filly from the Art Major mare Swingingwithsierra, a half-sister to five winners including the classics winners Tangoingwithsierra and Dancingwithsierra.

The winner of the Breeders Crown at two, the Somebeachsomewhere horse Summa Cum Laude, who was the second leading first season sire in America last year, has a three-strong entry at the sale.

They include two colts from Solotrek, namely Lot 103, a tall colt from the Artsplace mare Jilliby Pleasure, and Lot 175, a strongly built youngster out of Fromtheotherside, a Rock N Roll Heaven mare from a top flight USA family.

Lot 171, a lovely Summa Cum Laude filly on account of Tourello, is from Dancing Silhouette, a close relative to Life Inthefastlane, Brutally Handsome and Indigenous.

Catch The Fire, a brilliantly fast son of Captaintreacherous, is represented by a big, strong colt out of the Melton Mares’ Championship winner Nikki Louise (Lot 129) and a lovely filly from Keayang Destiny, a member of the same family as Blacks A Fake (Lot 105).

The sole entry by the Sweet Lou millionaire Dancing Lou at the sale is Lot 177, an athletic colt out of Girls Go Racing, the dam of four winners including the multiple NSW Group winner Girl From Oz.

Rounding out the Tourello Standardbreds contingent at Melbourne is Lot 169, a big, strong colt by the superstar pacer Lennytheshark from Celtic Cat.
